Where does your data live?
Finary connects to your bank via aggregator APIs (Plaid, Bridge). To do that, they hold encrypted tokens that read your accounts. It works — but those tokens live somewhere.
Compass doesn't do that. Compass talks to a Google Sheet in your own Drive — the same way you'd talk to a spreadsheet you made yourself. We don't see your bank, we don't hold any tokens, and there's nothing on a Compass server that could be breached.

What people ask before switching.
Can I switch from Finary to Compass?
Yes. Export your data from Finary (manual or CSV), import it into your Compass Sheet. We don't auto-import yet, so this is a one-time manual step — but most Finary buyers find their existing setup easier to reconstruct than to migrate.
Why isn't there a subscription?
We sell software once and move on. The tracker doesn't have ongoing API costs we'd need to recoup monthly — your data lives in your own Google Drive, computed by your own browser. There's nothing to subscribe to.
Is there a free trial?
There's a live demo at firecompass.app/overview?demo=1 — the full product, with synthetic data. Use it as long as you want before deciding.
What happens if Compass shuts down?
Your Sheet stays in your Drive. Compass never had access to anything else. You can read and edit it forever using Google Sheets directly. The financial picture you built is portable.
